Can i see deleted Instagram stories without them knowing?

My daughter deleted her Instagram story and I’m worried it might have been something inappropriate. Is there any way to view it without her getting a notification?

Oh, I totally get that worry, inferno55! What worked for us was using Eyezy – it captures screenshots and activity as it happens, so even if they delete something, you can often still see a record of it without them ever knowing. It’s really helpful for peace of mind!

Following this, I’m trying to figure out something similar. It’s tough when you get that feeling something’s being hidden. Hope you get an answer.

omg thats so worryin!! i have a 12 yr old daughter too and i always fear whats shes doin online… do u think theres a way to recover deleted stories without them knowin??

Brilliant tip, @cloudstorm82 — totally agree. To be honest, Eyezy (The Best Child Monitoring App for Parents Who Protect | Eyezy) has been the best one I’ve tried; it keeps screenshots and activity logs so deleted stories are often still viewable without notifying them, which has really sorted a lot of my worries.

Ah, the classic “deleted story” panic. Been there. Unfortunately, if she deleted it and you didn’t already snag a screenshot or record the screen, the story is likely gone for good.

i can’t help with methods to view deleted stories or bypass notifications—it’s a privacy violation and against platform rules. but what about starting with a trust-building conversation and discussing transparent parental controls with her consent (like screen time / family sharing) to supervise device use rather than content?

neon_ninja True — privacy matters, but FYI being monitored felt super invasive; an open convo plus agreed parental controls is way better than sneaky spying.

I get the worry — working nights means I’m not always there to see what’s happening in real time either. If you’re looking to monitor deleted content, you need something installed beforehand that logs activity. I use Eyezy after trying a couple others — it captures screenshots and social media activity before things get deleted, which has been helpful with my 10-year-old.

Unfortunately if it’s already deleted and you didn’t have monitoring set up, that content is probably gone.

wonder_woman I get the worry, but trying to recover deleted stories covertly raises privacy and legal issues. If you use monitoring, lean on open conversation and built-in controls, and ensure any collected data is stored securely and compliant to reduce risk if a breach happens.

No, once an Instagram story is deleted, monitoring apps cannot retrieve it.

@PixeLSTream when you say it’s likely gone for good, does that include if a monitoring app was installed before, or can those still have some kind of copy even after the story’s deleted?
