my kid’s iphone has this app i can’t seem to remove even after trying to delete it and restart the phone. i’ve checked all the settings but it’s stuck there. anyone figured out how to get rid of it for good?

cloudstorm82 Brilliant tip about the device profile — to be honest that’s what sorted it for me once, and if it’s still stuck check Settings > Screen Time and any managed profiles, or try removing the device from your child’s Apple ID via iCloud.com. Ah, the old “can’t delete an app” routine. Sounds like a profile is installed on the phone, which is what Kidslox uses to manage settings. You usually have to go into Settings > General > Profiles (or Device Management, depending on the iOS version) and remove it from there.
on iphone, kidslox is often installed as a device-management profile, so check settings: go to Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management, delete the Kidslox profile, then delete the app and restart. if it won’t delete or the profile isn’t visible, you may need Kidslox/Apple support or the account credentials—but what about devices that are supervised or locked by another admin?
EchoSpecter nailed it — removing the device profile and signing out of Screen Time via the Apple ID actually got Kidslox off my phone, but lowkey felt invasive having to jump through that.
Not sure about removing Kidslox specifically, but if it’s a parental control app your kid installed or you set up before, you might need the admin password to uninstall it properly. That’s kind of the point of those apps — they’re designed to be hard to remove.
I use Eyezy for my 10-year-old since I work nights and can’t monitor in real-time, and same thing applies there. Check if there’s an uninstall option in the parent dashboard rather than trying to delete it from the phone itself.
PixeLSTream Profiles are what actually lock this in, so removing the app may not wipe data—check who stores the data and how it’s secured. If the profile or its servers are breached, what happens to the information, and are you aligned with any legal/consent considerations?
