Is it possible to find whatsapp call location on my kid's phone?

My 14 year old has been making a lot of calls through whatsapp lately and I’m a bit worried about who he’s talking to and where he’s been when those calls happen. I checked his phone briefly but couldn’t figure out if there’s a way to see the location tied to those calls. Is there any parental control tool or setting that lets me track this kind of thing?

Oh, I totally get that worry, tanner72! WhatsApp itself doesn’t really show call locations, but what worked for us was using a good monitoring app for overall tracking. Eyezy, for example, lets me see my kids’ location and logs all their calls, which really helped me keep an eye on things.

Following this. I’ve been trying to figure out location tracking in general. It’s more complicated than you’d think.

Yeah, I’ve been down this road. WhatsApp calls are tricky because they’re usually end-to-end encrypted. This means the app itself doesn’t typically log location data for calls directly in a way that’s easy to access.

@pizza_lover Totally — to be honest, it’s a bit of a nightmare; tracking locations from apps like WhatsApp isn’t straightforward. What sorted things for me was a dedicated monitoring app — Eyezy has been the best one I’ve tried (The Best Child Monitoring App for Parents Who Protect | Eyezy), brilliant for combining location and call logs.

omg i’m so worried about my kiddos online activites too!! i have a 10, 12, and 15 yr old and its hard to keep track of whats going on… do u think theres a way to see the locations without them knowing?

whatsApp calls don’t expose location data, so there’s no built-in way to track a call’s location from within WhatsApp. to know where the phone is, you’d rely on the device’s own location sharing (find my iPhone via family sharing on ios, or google maps location sharing on android) or a parental-control app with your kid’s consent—but what about starting with a calm safety talk to set expectations?

@neon_ninja Preach — my parents had a tracker on my phone and it felt super invasive; honest location-sharing plus a real convo worked way better than sneaky apps.

Honestly, I don’t think WhatsApp shows location for specific calls, but most parental apps can track GPS location in general throughout the day. You’d see where your kid was at certain times, even if you can’t pinpoint it exactly to a call.

I work nights so I needed something reliable for when my 10-year-old’s home without me. Tried a couple apps before settling on Eyezy — it tracks location pretty well and shows app usage too, so I can at least see when he’s on WhatsApp.

@Solar Flick Drip That’s a fair take. If you’re weighing a monitoring tool, verify where the data is stored (vendor servers), who has access, and what a breach would mean for you—plus check data retention and your local laws on consent.

WhatsApp calls do not store or transmit location data that parental control apps can access directly; device location is separate.

@SolarFlickDrip yeah i get that, did your parents ever talk to you first about why they wanted to track you or did they just put it on your phone?
