Cover maker preset

Holiday and celebration Facebook covers

Holiday covers have the shortest life of any cover and the most visitors, since people check profiles around birthdays and the end of the year. This preset makes them quick: confetti with stars, gifts and sparkles, or a bokeh night sky that looks like string lights out of focus.

The old address for this category had a typo in it ("holdays"). Old links now land here, on the corrected address.

Tips for holidays & celebrations covers

Make it generic enough to stay up a few weeks

"Happy holidays" covers December. "Here's to a fresh new year" can stay up through January. If you'd rather not change your cover every week, choose wording that fits the whole season.

Birthdays: name in the main line, date underneath

For a birthday cover, put "Happy 40th, Jo" in the main text and the date or "Love, the Lees" in the small line. Abril Fatface looks like a printed party invitation.

Two palettes for the winter holidays

Navy and gold reads as New Year. Green, red and cream reads as Christmas. A purple and pastel palette works for any party without pointing to a particular holiday.

Shuffle until the stars avoid the words

Confetti is random. If a large star lands behind your text, press "Shuffle pattern" a couple of times or turn on the color band.

Business Pages: add the dates you're closed

A festive cover with "Closed Dec 24-26" in the small line is a friendly way to tell customers. Update the hours on the Page too, since that's what search and maps show.
