Make your own Facebook cover
Pick a category, try a few styles and palettes, add a line of text if you want one, and download a PNG sized for Facebook. The overlay shows where the phone app trims the sides and where your profile photo will sit.
Cover maker
How it looks on a phone
Approximate. The app trims the sides and puts your profile photo over the lower left.
The guides are never part of the download. Works for personal profiles and Pages, which share one cover size. Not affiliated with Meta or Facebook.
The sizes this maker uses
Facebook recommends uploading covers at 851 x 315 pixels. The maker downloads at 1702 x 630 by default, the same shape at twice the pixels, so text stays crisp on sharp phone and laptop screens. Personal profiles and Pages use the same cover area, so one file covers both.
On a computer the cover shows at roughly 820 x 312, which barely trims anything. The phone app shows a 640 x 360 view, a taller box that cuts into both sides. That center slice is the only part everyone sees, so the maker keeps text inside it.

Questions
What size does the cover maker export?
1702 x 630 pixels by default, which is exactly twice Facebook's recommended 851 x 315 upload, so the cover stays sharp on high-density screens. You can also export at 851 x 315. Both have the same shape, so Facebook does not crop anything extra.
Do personal profiles and Facebook Pages need different cover sizes?
No. Facebook uses the same cover area for personal profiles and for Pages, shown at about 820 x 312 on a computer and 640 x 360 on a phone. One file made here works for both.
Why does part of my cover disappear on my phone?
The phone app shows a taller, narrower slice of the cover, so it trims the left and right sides. Turn on the phone crop overlay and keep your text and anything important inside the dashed box.
Are my covers uploaded anywhere?
No. The cover is drawn on a canvas in your browser and the PNG is created on your device. We don't see, store or keep anything you type.
Can I use the covers for a business Page?
Yes. The patterns are generated from your settings, the sample quotes were written by our team, and the fonts are open-source. You can use the result on personal profiles, business Pages and client accounts.
